The team from Birmingham City University (BCU) of UK shares greetings with BAU VC

Professor Chamkour Athwal, along with Dr. Florimond Gueniat, Dr. Shishank Shishank, Dr. Khondokar Mizanur Rahman, and Dr. Sandeep Dhundhara, visited the Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Professor Dr. A K Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, at his office on 25 May 2025. Mr. Dipal Chandra Barua, founding chairman of Bright Green Energy Foundation (BGEF), was present as a guest during the visit. Prof. Muhammad Javidul Haque Bhuiyan, Director (in-charge) of Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURES), was also present in the meeting.
The visit was part of a 10-day-long trip of the BCU team to Bangladesh for a UKRI (UK Research and Innovation)-funded project led by Professor Dr. Chayan Kumer Saha of the Department of Farm Power and Machinery, BAU. As part of their visit, the team observed different solar irrigation pump (SIP) systems under different organizations.
In the meeting, the honorable Vice Chancellor shared his experience with the solar panel use in Germany from the 2000s and appreciated the continuous collaboration between BCU and BAU. They also discussed the different project activities and potential avenues for future collaboration with BAU.
Other team members, Professor Dr. Md. Harun Or Rashid, Department of Agronomy; Professor Dr. Anisur Rahmam, Department of Farm Power and Machinery; Associate Professor Dr. A. K. M. Abdullah Al-Amin, Department of Agricultural Economics; and Associate Professor Dr. Md. Sanaul Huda, Department of Farm Power and Machinery of BAU, were also present at the meeting.
